RAWALPINDI: A fact-checking platform has rejected claims circulating on media regarding an alleged delay in the Rawalpindi Kutchery Chowki project, terming the reports fake news and a fabricated claim.

According to Azaad Fact Check, the information being attributed to Dawn News about delays in the project is incorrect and misleading.

The platform stated that the Rawalpindi Kutchery Chowki project is progressing according to schedule and there are no delays in its execution.

It urged the public to verify information from credible sources before sharing it on social media to prevent the spread of misinformation.

Officials associated with the project also maintained that construction work is continuing as planned and the project timeline remains unchanged.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority on Tuesday dismissed social media reports regarding a massive hike in the prices of petroleum products, terming them “completely baseless” and “fabricated.”

In an official statement, a spokesperson for the regulator clarified that no summary has been forwarded to the Prime Minister’s Office proposing an increase of Rs 73.40 in the price of petrol and Rs 84.95 in the price of diesel.
