European luxury carmaker Ferrari has launched its first electric luxury car, the Luce, which has received mixed reactions from users on social media.
The design of Ferrari’s new 5-seater electric car was heavily criticized by some users, while many called it a departure from the company’s traditional style.
One user wrote that Ferrari, like Jaguar, has also ended its brand identity, while other comments questioned the new strategy of European luxury carmakers.
On the other hand, many users called the design of the car revolutionary and called it a big step for Ferrari.
Ferrari Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni said that criticism is natural in the process of new thinking and innovation. According to him, the concept of an electric Ferrari may seem controversial, but people will like the design more in the coming months.
The company has made it clear that it will continue to sell its electric vehicle as well as petrol and hybrid models.
According to reports, the global auto industry’s transition to electric vehicles has faced various difficulties in recent years. Companies such as Ford and Volkswagen are refocusing on petrol vehicles due to weak demand and policy changes.
Similarly, Lamborghini has postponed plans for fully electric vehicles and turned to hybrid models, while Porsche has also limited its EV strategy due to weak demand.
Chinese automakers have become tough competition for Western companies due to their low cost and fast production. On the other hand, the decline in demand for luxury products due to inflation and global economic pressures has affected the shares of many large companies, including Ferrari.
