Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing dialogue between the United States and Iran, stressing continued efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.

In a post on X following his extended meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, the prime minister said the two leaders held detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest and the evolving regional situation.

He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia and commended the Saudi leadership’s prudent approach, patience, and restraint during challenging times.

The prime minister also briefed the crown prince on Pakistan’s role in facilitating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, as well as recent developments regarding peace negotiations held in Islamabad.

Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to continue its efforts towards achieving a sustainable peace agreement between Washington and Tehran, aimed at ensuring long-term stability in the region.

He also expressed gratitude to the Saudi crown prince for supporting Pakistan’s peace initiatives.

On the other side statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, stated that the meeting between the Prime Minister and the Saudi Crown Prince in Jeddah lasted for about two hours, during which the two leaders discussed the emerging regional situation in detail.

The statement said that the Prime Minister reiterated solidarity and support for Saudi Arabia in the context of regional tensions. The Prime Minister appreciated the exemplary patience and restraint shown by Saudi Arabia in the recent situation.

The Prime Minister said that the people of Pakistan stand by their Saudi brothers, and the Saudi leadership is an example for all peace-loving people, including Saudi Arabia.

According to the statement, the Saudi Crown Prince appreciated the constructive role of the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal in the peace process. The Prime Minister appreciated Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Pakistan’s economic stability.

In the meeting, the two leaders also reiterated their commitment to further strengthen close cooperation in the fields of defense and security and to promote the long-standing partnership.
