A 5.4-magnitude earthquake jolted parts of northern Pakistan, with tremors felt in Swat, Peshawar and Mingora, and surrounding areas according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Earthquake tremors were felt in Mingora city and surrounding areas on Wednesday, triggering panic among residents.
According to the seismic monitoring centre, the earthquake was recorded at 12:51pm PST. Its magnitude was recorded at 5.4, while the depth was measured at 187 kilometres.
The epicentre of the earthquake was located in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan.
The tremors caused fear and panic among residents, with people reportedly reciting Kalma Tayyaba and coming out of their homes. No casualties or property damage were reported immediately.
