‎Daily Curfew in South Waziristan disrupts dducation activities ‎

‎SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Students of Al-Falah Public High School, Wacha Khwara staged a protest along with school principal Usman Wazir against the daily curfew being imposed in the district, saying it is severely affecting educational activities.

‎During the protest, students carried placards highlighting various demands.
‎
‎Speaking on the occasion, Principal Usman Wazir said the purpose of the protest with students was to send a message to the government and relevant authorities that continuous curfews are badly impacting the education of children in the district.
‎
‎He stated that due to the daily curfew, students are facing difficulties in reaching school and participating in academic activities, resulting in the loss of valuable study time.
‎
‎Principal Usman Wazir demanded that the government and authorities allow students to travel based on their school uniform and school bags, so they can reach their educational institutions without hindrance.
‎
‎He further said that if there is an issue regarding the identification of school teachers, then official school ID cards should be issued to all teachers of government and private institutions. These cards could be shown at checkpoints to allow teachers to reach schools.
‎
‎Usman Wazir said that due to the law and order situation in Lower South Waziristan, businesses, employment and other sectors of life are already affected. In such circumstances, it is essential to prevent the education sector from being further damaged.
‎
‎He added that children are the most valuable asset of any society. Therefore, the government and administration should devise an effective mechanism that ensures both security and the uninterrupted continuation of students’ education.
‎
‎The principal appealed for practical steps to save the children of Lower South Waziristan from being deprived of education, and for proper arrangements to ensure the safe movement of students and teachers to educational institutions.

‎
‎It is worth mentioning that due to the law and order situation and movement of security forces in various areas of Lower and Upper South Waziristan, the district administration imposes restrictions under Section 144.
‎
‎According to officials, these measures are taken for security and public safety. However, at the local level, citizens have also expressed concerns about the impact on educational and business activities.
