CHARSADDA: Three most wanted terrorists of Fitna-ul-Khawarij were killed, and heavy weapons were recovered in the Shabqadar area of Charsadda, when the Counter-Terrorism Department CTD Mardan launched a crackdown against terrorists belonging to Fitna-ul-Khawarij while acting on a tip-off.
According to CTD officials, as soon as the information about the presence of terrorists was received, the forces surrounded the area and started an operation, but instead of arresting them, the terrorists started firing on the forces.
After a fierce exchange of fire in the retaliatory action, the three terrorists were killed. The slain terrorists have been identified as Hayat Khan alias Hayatullah, Asim, and Aminullah alias Muawiya alias Qari.
According to CTD, Hayat Khan was a declared person in the target killing case of Maulana Izzatullah, and several cases of murder and terrorism were registered against him. Asim was involved in incidents targeting police personnel and religious leaders in Khyber district, while Aminullah alias Muawiya was involved in recruiting and training terrorists in the area.
During the operation, three Kalashnikovs and hand grenades were also recovered from the terrorists. CTD officials say that these weapons were to be used for further terrorist acts in the area. During the encounter, some of the terrorists’ associates managed to escape, and a search operation is underway in Shabqadar and its surroundings to arrest them.
Additional personnel have been deployed by setting up roadblocks in the area to arrest the escaped terrorists. According to CTD officials, this operation was carried out to maintain law and order in the area and break the terrorist network.
Residents appreciated this successful CTD operation and said that the people were in great fear due to the presence of terrorists in Shabqadar, and this operation will improve the atmosphere of peace in the area.
