CHARSADDA: Police in Charsadda have detained 15 Afghan nationals during a crackdown under the federal government’s Arrest and Deportation Policy targeting undocumented foreign nationals.

According to official sources, the operation was carried out in the city’s jurisdiction as part of ongoing efforts against illegal Afghan immigrants. Authorities have begun profiling the detained individuals and are verifying their identity and travel documents.

Sources said Afghan nationals who fail to produce valid legal documentation will be deported in accordance with the government’s policy.

Under the prescribed procedure, those detained will first be shifted to a holding centre after the initial arrest.

In the final stage, undocumented Afghan nationals will be repatriated to Afghanistan following the completion of legal formalities.

Officials said the operation is continuing across the district, with further arrests expected as enforcement of the Arrest and Deportation Policy continues.
