Cambridge International Education has formally cancelled the Maths 9709/12 exam paper, ending the uncertainty surrounding the AS Level Maths paper.
The announcement issued by Cambridge has clarified that the paper leaked on social media will not be used for the preparation of results, but a new exam will now be conducted for the affected students.
As per the schedule, this re-examination of Maths will be conducted on June 9, 2026, for which no additional fee will be charged from students or educational institutions.
The Cambridge administration has expanded the scope of the investigation with the cooperation of law enforcement agencies to get to the root of the whole matter so that those responsible for leaking the paper can be identified.
The announcement has given a stern warning that strict legal action will be taken against those who illegally share or distribute the exam material, while such individuals may also be permanently banned from taking Cambridge exams in the future. The administration says that there will be no compromise on exam transparency.
Cambridge has assured students that despite this re-examination, the final date of declaration of results will not be affected and all results will be released on August 11, 2026 as per the pre-scheduled schedule. More detailed information and instructions in this regard will be provided to all registered schools by May 15.
