ISLAMABAD: The federal government has ordered a major reshuffle across the civil service and administrative departments, with several officers transferred and appointed to new positions.

The Establishment Division has issued formal notifications detailing the latest changes involving officers from various federal and provincial departments.

According to the notifications, a key change has been made in the Religious Affairs Division. Grade-20 officer Zulfiqar Khan of the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service has been transferred, with his services surrendered to the Auditor General of Pakistan. He has been replaced by fellow Grade-20 officer Wasim Arshad, who was awaiting posting and has been appointed Chief Finance Officer of the Religious Affairs Division.

In another move, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Federal Education Asad Akhtar Abbas has been transferred to the National Talent Pool. Deputy Secretary of the Establishment Division Ghulam Khaliq has also been transferred, with his services placed at the disposal of the Punjab government.

Several officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service have also been transferred. Grade-19 officer Aun Haider Gondal, serving in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Grade-18 officer Farhan Ahmed of the Islamabad administration have both been placed at the disposal of the Punjab government.

The government has also made changes involving health-sector officials. Dr Fahad Khalid of the Federal Ministry of Health has been transferred and his services placed at the disposal of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

Meanwhile, Madiha Khatun, a pharmacist from the Balochistan Health Department, has been transferred to the federal government and appointed Assistant Director at the National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine in Islamabad.

Two education officials from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have also been transferred to the federal government. Subject Specialist Economics Samia Bashir has been appointed Assistant Professor under the Federal Directorate of Education, while Subject Specialist Shehnaz Noori has been appointed as a Secondary School Teacher.

In a separate notification, Khalid Umar, who was serving as Section Officer in the Overseas Pakistanis Division, has been transferred, with his services surrendered to the Anti-Narcotics Force Division.
