BANNU:A widow and her children have accused close relatives of seizing crores worth of joint property through alleged forgery and demanded immediate intervention from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, police, and district administration.
Nigar Sultana, widow of late government school teacher Hazrat Siddiq of Government High School No. 2 Bannu City, along with her son Sultan Mahmood, addressed a press conference at Bannu Press Club.
Nigar Sultana said her husband died due to illness when the children were minors and had no understanding of property matters. She alleged that after his death, her brother-in-law Ghulam Siddiq and other relatives gave her the pension amount claiming it was her share.
“With that money we moved to Islamabad and bought a small house. Later we came to know that our share in shops, houses and land in the joint property was taken through forgery,” she said.
The widow alleged that a fake power of attorney was prepared in the name of a milkman, Rabiaz, who used to deliver milk to them. Using that document, property matters were handled and her share was allegedly transferred to her late husband’s brother Ghulam Siddiq and other brothers.
“I am the legal heir of my late husband and guardian of my children’s rights. We have been deprived of our rightful share through alleged fraud,” Nigar Sultana said. She demanded a transparent and impartial investigation to bring the facts to light.
The family appealed to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, provincial government, Bannu police and district administration to investigate the alleged forgery, fake power of attorney and transfer of property, take legal action against those responsible, and restore their property.
Nigar Sultana and her son warned that if justice was not provided, they would approach relevant courts and other legal forums to claim their legal rights.
