BANNU: The district administration has intensified its crackdown on undocumented Afghan nationals in Bannu, demolishing three temporary camps as part of an ongoing repatriation drive.

Acting on directives from the provincial government, the district administration evacuated and dismantled the camps established in Bannu before carrying out the demolition, officials said.

It was reported that more than 3,500 undocumented Afghan nationals had already been deported as part of this operation and more efforts were expected to follow in the district.

The administration stated that the operation was being carried out in accordance with the directives provided by the provincial government to rid the area of undocumented settlements and deport the undocumented foreign nationals.

It was further reported that the operation was ongoing and would see more actions taken against illegal camps and undocumented individuals in the coming days.
