SWABI: 21st April, 2026: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader and Secretary General of Tehreek Tahaffuz-i-Aain Pakistan, Asad Qaiser, visited his native area of Maini, Swabi where he met residents and listened to their complaints regarding prolonged outages of electricity and gas. He said the public was “deeply distressed” due to severe electricity loadshedding, while the continued suspension of gas supply had compounded the hardships of domestic consumers. He added that CNG consumers were particularly facing acute hardship.
Expressing concern, Asad Qaiser said it was “beyond comprehension” why loadshedding was being carried out on such a large scale, and announced that he would raise the matter forcefully in the upcoming session.
Rejecting the F Minister’s claim that loadshedding was limited to only one hour, he said ground realities were entirely different, as gas was virtually unavailable. He alleged that the federal minister was misleading the public.
Asad Qaiser further said that despite Khyber Pakhtunkhwa producing gas in significant quantities, its people were being deprived of this basic facility. He demanded an immediate end to power and gas loadshedding and called for urgent resolution of the issues faced by CNG consumers on a priority basis.
