RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s military leadership has extended Eidul Azha greetings to the nation and the wider Muslim world, describing the religious festival as a powerful symbol of sacrifice, devotion and obedience to God.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, in their joint message, said that Eidul Azha reminds believers of the great spirit of sacrifice, selflessness, obedience, and the willingness to give up everything for the sake of Allah’s pleasure.

They said these values are also reflected in the spirit of the armed forces personnel who continue to serve the country with dedication and sacrifice, often away from their families, in defence of the homeland.

According to the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, troops from the Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, along with Rangers, Frontier Corps, and other security agencies, remain deployed across borders, the Line of Control, and sensitive areas during Eid to ensure peace and security so citizens can celebrate the festival in a safe environment.

The leadership paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs and their families, acknowledging their resilience, patience, and unwavering commitment to the country. They said the nation remains indebted to those who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The message also emphasized that Eidul Azha promotes unity, brotherhood, compassion, and service to humanity, urging citizens to remember the less fortunate, including families of martyrs and vulnerable communities, during the festive occasion.

The armed forces reaffirmed their resolve to continue safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stating that they remain fully prepared to respond to any threat against the country at all times.
