Former captain of Pakistan’s national cricket team, Shahid Khan Afridi, paid a special visit to Bacha Mena, a locality near the Torkham border in Landi Kotal.
Shahid Afridi spent time interacting with the youngsters, listening to their concerns and learning about the challenges they face. During his visit, he announced the construction of a boundary wall and a proper pitch at the local cricket ground to ensure that the youth have improved facilities to pursue the sport.
Expressing his deep connection with Khyber district, Afridi said the region is his ancestral homeland and holds great significance for him.
He noted that several development projects had already been completed in Tirah, and assured that further facilities would soon be provided in Bacha Mena and other surrounding areas.
During the visit, Afridi also pledged to help resolve the area’s long-standing water issues, offering hope to residents living near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border crossing at Torkham.
He praised the talent and potential of the youth in Khyber district, assuring them of his continued support.
The visit created an atmosphere of excitement and joy in the area, as residents and young players warmly welcomed the cricket star.
