RAWALPINDI: Eighteen terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy outfit Fitna al Hindustan were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

According to the military’s media wing, the first operation was conducted in the Chiltan Mountains area of Quetta district on reported presence of terrorists. During the exchange of fire, fourteen Indian-sponsored militants were killed.

In another IBO in Buleda, Kech district, a terrorist hideout was busted and four terrorists were eliminated.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the slain militants, who were said to be involved in several terrorist activities in the region.

The ISPR said sanitisation operations were underway to clear the area of any remaining terrorists.

It added that the ongoing counterterrorism drive under “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue to root out foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
