PESHAWAR: Peshawar police have foiled a murder attempt inside the Peshawar Judicial Complex, arrested a couple and recovered a weapon from their possession.
According to the police, a man and his wife had planned to murder an individual accused of involvement in their son’s death. Their attempt at revenge was thwarted during a court appearance at the Judicial Complex in Peshawar. Officers acted swiftly and arrested both the woman and her husband on the spot.
During a search at the entrance of the Judicial Complex around 9 AM, police recovered a 30-bore pistol and ammunition, which the woman had concealed.
Initial investigations reveal that the couple’s son, Bilal, aged between 17 and 18, was shot and killed in an incident in Bazid Khel under the jurisdiction of the Badaber police station on September 25, 2023. The main suspect in the case, Izhar, son of Ghazi Khan, is currently in jail and was appearing in court today related to the same matter.
According to the police, the woman, identified as Saif Khan’s wife, and her husband, also named Saif Khan (son of Onus Khan), both residents of Bazid Khel, had conspired to murder while inside the courthouse. They were arrested at the gate of the judicial complex and taken into custody.
