LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has signed a formal agreement with Education Services Limited (Beaconhouse) to provide fully funded academic scholarships to emerging cricketers across the country.
The signing ceremony took place at the PCB headquarters in Lahore, with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi attending as the chief guest. PCB Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed and Beaconhouse CEO Qasim Kasuri signed the three-year agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the partnership, 120 talented players from the Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19 categories will receive scholarships covering their education. The players will be selected from all 16 regional cricket zones of Pakistan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Naqvi lauded Beaconhouse’s role in supporting youth development, calling the collaboration a major step toward building a well-rounded future for Pakistan’s young cricketers.
“Young players can now focus on both their education and cricket,” Naqvi said. “This initiative will leave a lasting impact, ensuring that our future stars are not only skilled athletes but also well-educated individuals. It guarantees a brighter future for Pakistan’s cricketing talent.”
He added that the scope of the programme would be expanded in the future to include more deserving players, making it a key component of PCB’s youth development strategy.
The ceremony was also attended by Pakistan’s white-ball head coach Mike Hesson, Director of Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi, GM Domestic Junaid Zia, Beaconhouse COO Ali Ahmed Khan, AD Operations Faisal Nisar, GM Syeda Iram Naqvi, and Manager Sports Tania Malik.
