PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has temporarily suspended the distribution of shares from revenue generated by government hospitals among their staff across the province, following a court order.
An official notification has been issued in this regard, directing the relevant health authorities to implement the decision with immediate effect.
According to a letter issued by the Health Department, the previous notification dated December 8, 2025, has been withdrawn in light of the High Court’s directions and a pending writ petition.
The suspension will remain in effect until the court delivers its final verdict on the matter.
Orders Issued to Health Authorities Across KP
The letter, issued by the Section Officer (Budget), has been circulated to the Director General of Health Services, the Provincial Health Services Academy, the Drug Control Authority, district health officers across the province, and medical superintendents of all Category B, C and D hospitals.
The relevant authorities have been instructed to ensure immediate compliance with the directive.
The department’s decision temporarily halts the existing arrangement for distributing hospital-generated revenue among staff until the legal proceedings are concluded and a final judicial decision is issued.
