PESHAWAR: Former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser’s claims of police torture on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers have been exposed as fake propaganda after fact-check investigations revealed AI-generated documents and old visuals being shared as recent incidents.

On October 15, 2026, Asad Qaiser posted on his official X account @AsadQaiserPTI alleging that a PTI worker from Swabi, Haroon, was tortured by unknown persons to force an anti-PTI statement. In his tweet, Asad Qaiser stated “The alleged torture of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Swabi worker Haroon by unknown persons, and harassment of him and his family to force him to speak against PTI, is extremely worrying.

However, official fact-checkers have declared the campaign as fabricated. The official Fact Check KP Government account @factcheckkpgovt issued a clarification on October 13, stating:“A fake notification is currently being circulated on social media, falsely claiming that KP Home Department has directed identification and arrest of PTI workers.

According to official sources, the fake campaign is an attempt to create a false impression of politically motivated state action and to malign police following imposition of emergency under Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution. KP Police has urged citizens to avoid sharing unverified information.
