PESHAWAR: Heavy rain has temporarily disrupted electricity supply to 67 feeders across the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) region, a PESCO spokesperson said on Monday.

According to details, power supply has been suspended to 31 feeders in Peshawar Circle, 22 feeders in Khyber Circle, 11 feeders in Mardan Circle and 3 feeders in Swat Circle due to heavy rainfall and for safety reasons.

The spokesperson clarified that electricity is being supplied normally through all other feeders across the region. On the instructions of PESCO Chief Executive Officer Akhtar Hameed Khan, operation teams have been placed on high alert to deal with any emergency situation.

The spokesperson said that power restoration work has already started in areas where the rain has stopped, while repair work in the remaining areas will begin as soon as the weather improves and conditions allow field staff to work safely.

PESCO has appealed to consumers to cooperate during the bad weather and take precautionary measures. Consumers can report electricity-related complaints by calling the PESCO helpline 118 or the 24/7 complaint number 0800-299-118.
