PESHAWAR: Pakistan People Party Provincial President Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha said that dialogue is the only option to get ride the existing crisis and poor governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and instead of holding long march the Chief Minister should focus on governance.
Pakistan Peoples Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha has criticized PTI, saying that the province is facing serious issues like terrorism, law and order, corruption, development and governance, but instead of focusing on them, priority is being given to political activities and Imran Khan’s narrative.
Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club, Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha said that the PTI leadership is touring different districts, and after setting up camp in Peshawar from his native constituency, there are plans to visit Charsadda and Bajaur, while visits to other areas are also being made.
According to him, in the districts where the PTI leadership is reaching, other political parties are not getting the opportunity to hold rallies, protests or gatherings.
He questioned who is ultimately suffering the loss in this situation. The PPP provincial president said that along with terrorism and the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there are also issues of governance and corruption, but instead of paying attention to these matters, youth are being misled and hatred and differences are being created in their minds.
He said that the current situation of the province is in front of everyone; employment and development are being affected while funerals are being held daily and security forces and police personnel are being martyred. He said that the people trusted and elected PTI representatives, but despite that, they are failing to deliver.
Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha said that PTI is giving the impression that the Pakistan Peoples Party or the government is trying to politically interfere or bring change in the province. He said that if PTI thinks that the government wants to impose emergency or Governor’s Rule in the province, then the question is why it would want to do so. He urged PTI to focus on eliminating terrorism from the province, development, curbing corruption, and solving governance issues.
The PPP provincial president further said that in the past, elected representatives used to come to the assembly on bicycles, while today they have become millionaires and billionaires and roam around in Land Cruisers. He said that wherever the PTI leadership wants to go in the province, whether day or night, it has the freedom to go, but other political parties are not being given the opportunity for political activities.
Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha said that if the PTI leadership thinks that problems will be solved by continuing to tour the entire province, then it should also see who is suffering the loss from this situation. According to him, the loss is not being suffered by outsiders but by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the youth and the people of the province.
