ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that rising terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must be stopped at all costs.

The Prime Minister expressed these views during a meeting with Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam, in which matters related to Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were discussed.

The Prime Minister said that the sacrifices of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the war against terrorism are highly valued, and we desire that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should also progress like other parts of the country.

During the meeting, the Federal Minister briefed the Prime Minister on ongoing affairs and progress in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Prime Minister directed to continue measures for the welfare of the people, development and provision of basic facilities, saying that development and prosperity of the people in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan is among the priorities of the government.

It is worth mentioning that several incidents of terrorism have occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in recent times. Today in Kohat, four personnel were injured as a result of firing by unknown miscreants on a police check post. Yesterday, four Customs officials were martyred when terrorists opened fire near Qureshi Mor Abhaya Bridge in the limits of Gomal University police station in Dera Ismail Khan district.

 In another incident near Mufti Mahmood Chowk in the limits of Dera Town police station, terrorists targeted a traffic police mobile and martyred constable driver Muhammad Habib.
