ISLAMABAD – Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that personal agenda should not be prioritized over national interest and that the government’s doors for negotiations are open.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, Rana Sanaullah said the Prime Minister has already offered dialogue to the opposition, and the PTI should accept the invitation and call off the sit-in.

He stated in unequivocal terms that no demand can be met by holding the state hostage and through a policy of political instability. After Pasha Sahib’s successful experiment, PTI got recognition. PTI has succeeded in promoting a culture of abusive language and intolerance, and even now such a situation is created on social media and in the media,” he said.’

The Advisor said political tolerance has been eliminated and PTI has advanced this agenda as a political party. Since 2014, PTI has always wanted to besiege Islamabad, for which all resources of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government are being used.

Are the martyrs of Customs and Police from PML-N? They are residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A large number of martyrs of the armed forces are from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said. ‘People of KP have rejected long march’Commenting on the PTI long march, Rana Sanaullah said the KP government was beating drums to gather people and mislead them, but the people of the province rejected it.

Since the long march started, they have not been able to gather more than a few thousand people at any place. The PTI’s long march, which started on October 4, has entered its fourth day. Today, the convoy will move from Matni, a suburb of Peshawar, towards Khyber district. He said crores of rupees were collected for the campus, but there were not even mats to lie on.

The KP government was told and made to understand, but they say that my agenda is not to serve the people but to die in love for Imran. An attempt was made to engage them, and talks were held with them in negotiations.

‘Deadlock in talks being misrepresented’ Rana Sanaullah claimed that the point that caused the deadlock in negotiations is being misrepresented. Salman Akram Raja said that our point of view was not included in the anti-terrorism policy; this is a completely wrong impression being given.

Negotiations between PTI and the federal government to stop the long march had ended without reaching any agreement. After hours-long talks on October 2 and 3, claims and accusations are being made from both sides while the PTI’s long march continues.

The Advisor said the anti-terrorism policy is already in place and the armed forces are taking it forward very successfully. Intelligence-based operations are already underway, to which they have objections.

He clarified that no new operation is going to be conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and there will be no IDPs. The Field Marshal and the federal government have already said that no new IDPs will be created. The second demand is from Afghanistan that it should not allow its soil to be used for terrorism. Our friendly countries, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and China, made their full efforts and tried to convince the Afghan regime.

The Afghan regime was not ready; the Defence Minister went to Istanbul twice for this meeting. Pakistan’s policy is that if any plan for terrorism in Pakistan is made from Afghan soil, we will eliminate it. We have carried out limited operations with evidence.

Rana Sanaullah said the provincial head of the Apex Committee is the Chief Minister, and Sohail Afridi held only one meeting in 11 months. In this situation, it is necessary that the policy against terrorism be implemented. The lack of success of this policy is due to the absence of the provincial government.

He further said that the job of the armed forces is to eliminate terrorists and later the system has to be taken over by the civil administration, but there are no police stations in 5 districts there; 17,000 police posts are vacant while CTD has 3,300 personnel, out of which 25 are permanent, and the rest are on contract.

Police and CTD are not even being given a budget.Who will do this work of Pakistan and protect the lives of crores of people? This situation cannot be carried forward for long. Now the police have also acted very courageously, and their people are also being martyred,” he said, praising the current IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and saying he deserves congratulations.
