ISLAMABAD: People who have lost or damaged their CNIC can now apply for a replacement from home through the PakID mobile app without visiting a NADRA office.

A National Identity Card is an important identity document for Pakistani citizens living in the country and abroad. The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is responsible for issuing CNICs and other identity documents.

in Pakistan, CNICs have a specific validity period, except for those issued to senior citizens. Once a CNIC expires, citizens need to get a new one. A replacement CNIC is also needed if the original card is lost or damaged.

People who cannot visit a NADRA office due to work or other commitments can apply for a replacement from home.
Through the PakID mobile app, citizens can apply for a replacement of a lost or damaged CNIC without visiting a NADRA office.

Pakistani citizens can get their replacement CNIC from home by following these simple steps, according to which, open the PakID mobile app and select “Identity Documents” from the home screen. Select the “CNIC” option.
On the next screen, select the applicant and then choose “Reprint.” Complete the application process step by step by following the instructions provided in the app.
