PESHAWAR: In a major relief for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the Peshawar High Court has approved the interim pre-arrest bail of PTI District Peshawar President Irfan Saleem in the 9th May Radio Pakistan attack case till October 5.

The court heard the petition filed by Irfan Saleem seeking to avoid arrest in the high-profile case. It is important to note that Irfan Saleem had previously been discharged from the same case by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) based on the investigating officer’s report, which found no evidence against him.

However, later the police re-nominated him in the case along with the Chief Minister and other accused, after which Irfan Saleem approached the Peshawar High Court for pre-arrest bail.

After hearing the arguments, the High Court granted him interim protective bail till 5th October and directed the concerned authorities not to arrest him till then.

The 9th May Radio Pakistan building arson case is one of the main cases registered after the May 9 riots following the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan.
