SWAT: A shocking incident of bullying and humiliation of a school student at gunpoint has surfaced from Swat, triggering widespread anger on social media.
According to details, a video went viral on social media in which a student can be seen being threatened with a pistol and forced to take off his school uniform.
The video, reportedly filmed inside a Hujra (a traditional guest house), shows two students subjecting their classmate to degrading treatment while filming the act.
Sources said the victim was taken to the Hujra by his own class fellows where the incident took place. The accused can be seen brandishing a pistol and forcing the student to undress.
As soon as the video surfaced, citizens, parents and civil society members expressed severe outrage and condemned the incident in the strongest words.
There was a flood of reactions on social media demanding justice for the student. The public demanded immediate arrest of both accused visible in the video and called for strict legal action against them.
Citizens said that such incidents are raising serious questions about the safety of students and the growing trend of arms and bullying among youth.
They urged the police and education department to take exemplary action so that no one dares to commit such an act in the future.
Taking notice of the viral video, District Police Officer (DPO) Swat ordered immediate action. According to police sources, a team has been constituted to trace and arrest the accused involved in the incident.
DPO Swat said that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands and those who humiliate students at gunpoint will be brought to justice.
Police said that further legal action will be taken after the arrest of the suspects and identification of the victim. The incident has once again highlighted the need for strict vigilance in educational institutions and counselling of students to curb violent and criminal tendencies.
