MINGORA: A TikTok video recording turned into a tragedy in Swat’s Khwazakhela area after a young man was killed when a firearm accidentally went off during filming, police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, the incident took place when a pistol was fired by Naveedullah, a resident of Shangla district, while he was recording himself on TikTok.
Muaz Khan, son of Azam Khan and a resident of Babu, Khwazakhela, was hit by the bullet and sustained critical injuries. He was admitted to Khwazakhela Hospital but could not survive despite the efforts of the doctors.
Naveedullah has been arrested by the police in connection with the shooting incident and a case has been registered against him.
Mexican TikToker Cesar Gastelum Shot Dead During Live Stream in Front of Followers
Meanwhile, Mexican social media influencer and TikTok creator Cesar Gastelum was shot dead while livestreaming on the platform, according to local media reports.
Gastelum is claimed to be streaming live from outside a fast food joint with his friends, when two masked men on a motorbike showed up at the venue. One of the assailants is accused of shooting Cesar at point blank range, killing him on the spot and then running away.
Gastelum has been popular on TikTok as per authorities where he had around 600,000 followers and created comedic videos on the platform. An investigation and manhunt for the killers of the influencer have been initiated by the police.
This happened in Culiacán, which is the capital city of Mexico’s Sinaloa state, and has been witnessing serious security problems due to conflicts of the organized crime groups.
The death of Cesar Gastelum has once again brought into focus the security of social media personalities in Mexico amidst many violent events targeting online influencers.
