PESHAWAR: Shocking revelations have emerged regarding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government for alleged involvement in 200 billion embezzlement of police funds.
According to the details, a Rs 200 billion corruption stain is on the provincial government at the cost of the blood of KP Police, as development funds were allegedly embezzled while leaving the jawans unarmed.
Under the guise of so-called “infrastructure and construction”, the PTI provincial leadership distributed a huge amount of Rs 200 billion funds among themselves, where development projects were completed only in files and commissions went into specific pockets.
While terrorism was rising in the backward districts and border areas of KP, the IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had sent a formal summary for Rs 42 billion emergency funds for force protection, night vision, modern weapons and bulletproof posts.
Ignoring provincial peace and police protection, the provincial government ruthlessly axed the Rs 42 billion security budget and limited it to just Rs 14 billion. The height of irony and insensitivity is that despite dozens of requests and pleas by top police officers, out of this reduced budget, hardly Rs 1.4 billion (only 3.3% of the required funds) have been released so far.
For the attack on Islamabad and political rallies, provincial resources become available within minutes, but when it comes to weapons for the soldiers who sacrifice their lives on the front line, the treasury of the KP government dries up.
This is the priority of this corrupt group occupying the resources of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; where police jawans were left deprived of resources and allowed to become easy targets so that no question could be raised about the financial loot of Rs 200 billion.
