Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has convened an emergency meeting of the provincial cabinet today 2:00 PM.
Sources said that that the agenda for the cabinet meeting has not yet been prepared, however, the meeting is expected to consider a major law regarding the powers of the Police.
Sources said the meeting is likely to decide on approving a law to withdraw some or all powers from the Police. According to senior journalist and analyst Hammad Hassan, if the provincial cabinet approves the bill in this regard, it will have to go through further constitutional and legal stages.
In this situation, the question is also arising whether the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will give immediate approval to this bill?
