DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A suspected suicide attack involving an explosives-laden vehicle was reportedly carried out near the Aman Mela Police Checkpost in the Darazinda area of Dera Ismail Khan, with fears of multiple civilian casualties.
According to initial reports, terrorists targeted the police checkpost near a residential area using an explosives-laden vehicle. Several civilians are feared to have been killed or injured in the attack. The incident reportedly caused concern among residents of the area. The reported attack has once again brought the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into focus, as the province continues to face terrorist incidents.
Public and political circles have expressed serious concern over the repeated attacks and questioned the response of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and Chief Minister. They have questioned where the provincial government and Chief Minister are at a time when the province is facing serious security challenges and, according to them, attacks by militants are repeatedly targeting innocent civilians, police personnel and security forces.
The latest incident has also renewed questions about the provincial government’s security measures and its response to the continuing wave of violence in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
