ISLAMABAD: A case has been registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Junaid Akbar over an alleged hate and provocative speech circulated on social media.
According to the case details, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Islamabad registered the case against the PTI leader following the circulation of the alleged speech through various social media accounts.
The FIR reportedly states that Junaid Akbar threatened damage to government property, while the alleged remarks were said to have raised concerns about potential loss of life.
The case also includes the alleged transcript of the speech, in which Akbar is quoted as saying: “Just as attacks were carried out on Somnath, attacks will be carried out on Islamabad.”
Authorities have registered the case under provisions relating to alleged hate speech and incitement. Further legal proceedings are expected as the investigation continues.
