ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis traveling to Saudi Arabia on Hajj, Umrah and work visas have been given temporary relief, with authorities allowing them to travel without vaccination until October 10, 2026.
According to a health advisory issued by the Border Health Services, vaccination will be mandatory for travellers departing from Karachi Airport from 10 pm on October 10, 2026.
The advisory said vaccination facilities will continue to be available at government dispensaries for travellers who need to meet the requirement.
An emergency vaccination facility will also be available at Karachi Airport from October 10.
According to Saudi authorities, travellers are required to receive the vaccination at least 10 days before their scheduled date of travel.
The advisory applies to passengers traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj, Umrah and employment purposes.
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia waive visa requirement for diplomatic, official passport holders
Earlier, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to waive visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official passports, in a move aimed at facilitating high-level contacts and institutional exchanges between the two countries.
The decision was announced following a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.
In a post on X, Ishaq Dar said he was pleased to sign an agreement with Prince Faisal to waive visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official and special passports from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
He said the agreement would further facilitate high-level contacts and institutional exchanges between the two countries.
According to the deputy prime minister, the move would also contribute to further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries across areas of mutual interest.
