ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has carried out intelligence-based precision airstrikes inside Afghanistan on terrorist hideouts of Khariji Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group and Fitna al Khawarij (FAK) along the Pak-Afghan border, killing 28 terrorists.
According to security sources, at least 28 terrorists have been sent to hell while many others are injured in the precision strikes. Several hideouts and training camps used for cross-border terrorism have been destroyed.
Sources said the strikes were carried out after confirmed intelligence reports that these camps were being used to launch terrorist attacks inside Pakistan with the abetment of Afghanistan and India.
“Each act of Afghan-abetted Indian terrorism by these Khawarij will be answered with the full wrath and fury of the state of Pakistan,” a senior security official said.
The official added that Pakistan will continue such strikes until and unless the Afghan Interim Government takes concrete and verifiable steps to stop and eliminate cross-border terrorism emanating from its soil.
The strikes come amid a sharp rise in terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, for which Pakistan has repeatedly provided evidence of Afghan-based sanctuaries. No civilian casualties were reported as the operation was highly precise and targeted only terrorist camps.
