KARACHI: The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 was conducted across Pakistan on Sunday, with thousands of candidates appearing for the medical entrance examination.

The three-hour test has concluded, and candidates are now awaiting their results. The question paper and answer key are expected to be uploaded in PDF format, allowing students to estimate their scores by comparing their answers with the correct responses.

What Was MDCAT 2026 Like?

The MDCAT 2026 was conducted under strict security arrangements, with separate question papers prepared for each province. At least two different versions were provided for each province as an additional security measure.

The paper-based examination was conducted in English and comprised 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), divided into five sections according to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) test format.

Biology carried the highest number of questions with 81, followed by Chemistry with 45 and Physics with 36. English and Logical Reasoning each contained nine questions.

What Is the Passing Criteria for MDCAT?

Under the PMDC criteria, candidates must secure at least 55% marks for MBBS and 50% for BDS.

There is no negative marking in the test, meaning candidates will not lose marks for incorrect answers.

The examination was designed with 15% easy, 70% moderate and 15% difficult questions.

The answer key will help candidates assess their expected performance, but the official result issued by the relevant authorities will be considered final for the subsequent admission process.
