ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a “Proof of Life Certificate” facility for pensioners.
This facility is initially available for those pensioners who are receiving pensions through federal and provincial government institutions. The facility is available to pensioners administered by the Controller General of Accounts and provincial Accounts General.
It also covers pensioners from Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), as well as retired personnel of the Pakistan Army, Navy and Air Force. Pensioners associated with NADRA and Radio Pakistan have also been included in the first phase of the facility.
NADRA said the service would be extended to pensioners from other institutions in phases. In another similar development, NADRA has also introduced an online system allowing international travelers and Umrah pilgrims to obtain digital vaccination certificates before traveling abroad.
The move comes as the Airport Health Department has made NADRA vaccination certificates mandatory for passengers traveling internationally from all airports. The new rules will effect from September 14, 2026. Under the new system, travelers can obtain a digital vaccination certificate carrying a QR code through the National Immunization Management System (NIMS) without visiting a government office.
Applicants can visit the NIMS portal at nims.nadra.gov.pk and enter their CNIC number, date of issue or passport details. They will then be required to provide the requested personal information and security code before making the payment.
The certificate fee is Rs100, which can be paid online through a debit or credit card, JazzCash or Easypaisa. After confirmation of payment, applicants can download the digital vaccination certificate. The certificate can also be printed and carried with other travel documents.
