RAWALPINDI: The Armed Forces of Pakistan solemnly commemorated the 61st martyrdom anniversary of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed, recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, and paid rich tribute to his exceptional courage, leadership, and supreme sacrifice.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, and General Syed Aamer Raza, Commander National Strategic Command, paid tribute to the national hero on behalf of the armed forces.
During the 1965 war, Major Aziz Bhatti defended the Burki sector near Lahore with extraordinary courage, holding his position against repeated enemy attacks for five days and nights.
His resolute leadership and unwavering determination halted the enemy’s advance and made him an enduring symbol of courage, duty and sacrifice. ISPR said Major Aziz Bhatti’s devotion to duty, bravery and supreme sacrifice continued to inspire the nation and generations of Pakistan’s defenders.
The Armed Forces reaffirmed their resolve to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and security with the same courage, determination and spirit of sacrifice embodied by the Nishan-e-Haider recipient.
