SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Section 144 has been imposed in both South Waziristan Upper and Lower districts on September 12, 2026, from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM due to law and order concerns.
According to details, a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner South Waziristan Upper, Irfan Ali, stated that there will be a complete ban on opening of markets and shops, and on movement in the subdivisions of Sarwakai and Ladha.
In addition, movement of individuals, motorcycles, and all types of vehicles on specific highways has also been banned.
Ladha, Makin, Tabai Sar, BBR, Sararogha, Kotkai, Spinkai, Raghzai, Nazarkhel, Dargai Bridge, Madijan, Sheen Warsak, Molay Khan Sarai, Chagmalai, Sarwakai, Barwand, Asman Manza, Sherwangi, and Tor Wam.
In South Waziristan Lower, Deputy Commissioner Musarrat Zaman issued an order imposing a ban on movement from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM in Tehsil Wana, including Wana Bazaar and Wana Bypass.
Movement of all types of traffic, passenger and freight vehicles, and motorcycles has been prohibited on Wana, Tiarza Gate, Karab Kot, Tanai, Azizabad Chowk, Dargai Bridge, Gul Kach, Toi Khulla, and Tanai roads.
As per notifications of both districts, law enforcement agencies and emergency services including Rescue 1122 will be exempt from the restrictions. Movement in case of extreme emergency will be allowed with permission from police or security forces. Citizens have been directed to carry their CNICs and vehicle documents.
The notification also stated that citizens must stop their vehicles 50 meters before any security forces vehicle. Violators of Section 144 will face action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Due to the curfew-like situation, business activities have been affected today. Government and private educational institutions have also been impacted, while transport services have been suspended due to closure of multiple entry and exit routes. Hospital services and fruit and vegetable markets have also been affected by the restrictions.
