Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) continues to be sold at significantly higher prices in Lahore’s open market despite the government-fixed rate, putting additional financial pressure on consumers.
The official price of LPG has been set at Rs258 per kilogram, but the commodity is being sold for between Rs400 and Rs440 per kilogram in the retail market.
The significant gap between the official and market prices has forced consumers to purchase LPG at substantially higher rates.
Citizens have called for effective measures to ensure that LPG is sold at the officially notified price and demanded an immediate end to overcharging in the open market.
