Petrol Price in Pakistan Without Taxes Revealed — What Is the Real Cost?

ISLAMABAD: The actual price of petrol and high-speed diesel in Pakistan, excluding government levies, taxes and various margins has been revealed.

As per documents, the price of one liter of petrol has reached Rs367.75, while that of high-speed diesel is being sold at Rs392.67.

The government collects a number of levies, taxes and margins from consumers in the price of petroleum products.

As per the documents, the actual price of one liter of petrol is Rs234.73 while its present price stands at Rs367.75, which means that there is a difference of Rs133.02 in the base price and price being charged to consumers.

It has been revealed in the documents that Rs131.60 is being collected in the form of levies, taxes and margins on each liter of petrol.

The figures highlight the significant impact of government levies, taxes and margins on the final retail prices of petroleum products in Pakistan.

On the other hand, the price of one liter of high-speed diesel has reached Rs392.67 presently. As per documents, Rs122.55 is being collected on each liter of diesel in the form of levy, taxes and margin.

However, if taxes and other charges are excluded then the actual price of one liter of diesel comes to Rs270.12.
