ISLAMABAD: A proposal has been put forward to ban the sale of energy drinks inside and around schools in Islamabad, with a fine of up to Rs200,000 for violations.
The proposal was discussed during a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Science and Technology, chaired by Senator Kamil Ali Agha, where members reviewed the draft Islamabad Food Safety Bill.
During the meeting, Senator Samina Zehri brought up the issue of the sale of energy drinks at educational institutions, saying that there were chances of health risks to children due to their consumption.

Under the draft Islamabad Food Safety Bill, it is proposed to prohibit the sale of energy drinks in educational institutions as well as outside them. The violation of this proposed ban would bring a penalty of up to Rs 200,000.
It is important to note that the issue of increasing trend of consumption of energy drinks among underage children was also mentioned by committee members.
Intermediate Results 2026 Announced, 85.95% of Students Pass
Meanwhile, the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has announced the results of the Intermediate Part-I and Part-II Annual Examinations 2026, with an overall pass percentage of 85.95 percent.
Federal Minister for Education Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, who was the chief guest at the results announcement ceremony, said the federal government and the Ministry of Education were working to align the country’s future education framework and policies. He noted that education had now become the responsibility of provincial and local governments.
FBISE Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik said 212,416 candidates appeared in the annual examinations, while 1,237 staff members contributed to the preparation and compilation of the results.
According to the chairman, seven cases of cheating were reported during the examinations. He said the overall success rate stood at 85.95 percent, adding that female candidates recorded a higher pass percentage than male candidates.
Candidates can check their results through three different methods on the Federal Board’s official website.
Position Holders
In the Pre-Medical Group, Amara Azhar of Army Public School secured first position with 1,079 marks. Muhammad Jahanzeb of Punjab College stood second with 1,078 marks, while Syeda Iman Fatima secured third position with 1,076 marks.
In the Pre-Engineering Group, Iman Arshad topped the group with 1,075 marks. Zainab Sami secured second position with 1,070 marks, while Anza Fatima stood third with 1,068 marks.
In the Science Group, Abdullah Azhar secured first position with 1,063 marks, followed by Ayan Azhar in second place and Hadi Zakaria in third.
In the Commerce Group, Aqsa Farooq topped the group with 1,051 marks. Aiza Afzal secured second position with 1,047 marks, while Amina Asif stood third with 1,046 marks.
In the Humanities Group, Iman Fatima secured first position with 1,007 marks, followed by Amina Azhar with 1,003 marks. Yahya Fazil and Umair Raza jointly secured third position, both obtaining 1,002 marks.
The announcement marks the release of the FBISE Intermediate Part-I and Part-II annual examination results for 2026.
