SWAT: A 54-day-long rescue operation in the Kalam Valley of Swat has finally succeeded in recovering the body of mountaineer Syed Ali Shah Mian from a height of 5,200 meters on Falak Sar, the valley’s highest peak.
Syed Ali Shah died in a mountaineering accident on July 11 while descending after reaching the summit of Falak Sar. His body was located after several days of an intensive search in the difficult mountainous terrain. Despite severe weather and challenging conditions, the rescue team recovered the body and brought it to the base camp.
However, bad weather has prevented its transportation by helicopter. Despite the challenging terrain and persistent weather issues, the team is currently carrying the body on foot and attempting to transport it to Kalam.
It is pertinently essential to note that Syed Ali Shah Mian was an experienced mountaineer who had successfully summited Falak Sar and several other peaks on multiple occasions, proudly hoisting the Pakistani flag at their summits.
