LAHORE: Social media personality SK has claimed that he has filed a Rs200 million lawsuit against TikTok star Minahil Malik over the controversy surrounding an alleged viral video.
Speaking during a podcast on September 1, SK said he had initiated legal proceedings against Malik in Pakistan and had also filed a case in Dubai. He claimed that the controversy had seriously affected his reputation, family life and business. SK denied making the video public, saying the footage was not recorded on his mobile phone.
He alleged that other individuals were responsible for circulating it. He further claimed that he had been threatened with the release of the footage unless he paid a large sum of money. According to SK, he preserved screenshots of the alleged threats before the video began circulating widely online.
The controversy has attracted considerable attention on Pakistani social media. Malik has faced public scrutiny over alleged private video leaks but has denied wrongdoing and called on people to respect her privacy. The claims made by SK regarding the lawsuits and the alleged threats have not been independently verified, and details of any court proceedings or orders in Pakistan or Dubai were not immediately available.
Authorities and digital rights advocates generally advise users against sharing intimate or unverified footage, particularly when the identities of people shown or the circumstances surrounding the recording have not been established.
