ISLAMABAD: To facilitate citizens who are unable to visit passport offices during regular working hours, passport delivery counters across the country will now remain open every Saturday from 8am to 4pm.
However, this facility will be only for the next two months. It will allow applicants to collect their ready passports on weekends. According to the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, the special weekly facility has been introduced to provide greater convenience to applicants and enable them to collect their passports without having to wait until the next working week.
Citizens can visit the designated delivery counters on Saturdays to collect their ready passports during the specified hours. The Director General of Immigration and Passports has advised applicants to collect their passports at the earliest and make use of the Saturday facility if they cannot visit the offices during normal working hours.
The DG also warned that passports remaining uncollected for more than six months will be disposed of in accordance with government policy. Moreover, the applicants have been urged to collect their passports on time to avoid the possibility of disposal and any inconvenience caused by delayed collection.
