ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that bookings for the private Hajj scheme have gained momentum through the official Pak Hajj app and online portal.
According to a ministry spokesperson, Hajj organiser companies have uploaded their Hajj packages onto the digital portal, allowing pilgrims to review and book packages through the Pak Hajj app and portal.
A total of 16 basic Hajj packages have been finalised under the private Hajj scheme this year. Package prices range from Rs1.4 million to Rs3.75 million, depending on the services and facilities included.
The private Hajj scheme has been allocated 71,684 seats for this year. Pilgrims will have the option of choosing packages with shorter stays as well as five-star accommodation and services.
The ministry has advised pilgrims to select their package and make payments only through the official portal or app. It warned that the ministry would not be responsible for any loss resulting from direct payments made outside the approved digital system.
The deadline for selecting a package and completing payment under the private Hajj scheme is November 20, 2026.
The ministry said that if the allocated quota is not fully utilised by the deadline, it may reconsider and reallocate the quota.
Govt announces major Hajj 2027 facilitation for Pakistanis
Earlier, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Tuesday inaugurated an online payment system for pilgrims seeking to perform Hajj in 2027, allowing them to pay their Hajj expenses from home.
Speaking at the launch, the minister said applicants from across Pakistan could now submit their Hajj payments online using bank cards, making the process more convenient for pilgrims.
He said more than 400,000 people had already registered for Hajj 2027 through the Pak Hajj mobile application.
Sardar Yousaf said the facility had been introduced in collaboration with the National Information Technology Board (NITB), enabling pilgrims to apply online and complete the Hajj process digitally.
He added that the entire Hajj system had been end-to-end digitalised, allowing applicants to complete registration and payment procedures without visiting government offices.
The minister said that with the launch of the online payment facility, registered pilgrims could begin depositing their Hajj expenses from Tuesday.
According to the minister, 107,527 seats have been allocated for Pakistan’s government Hajj scheme for 2027.
