ISLAMABAD: Gold prices have witnessed another sharp increase in both Pakistan and the international market.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association. In the local market, the price of gold per tola rose by Rs 3,900 to reach Rs 469,136. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs 3,344, bringing it to Rs 402,208. The price of silver per tola increased by Rs 117, settling at Rs 7,161. On the international front, gold continued its rally. The price of gold per ounce increased by $39, reaching $4,466 per ounce in the global market.
Market analysts say the rise in local gold rates is directly linked to the increase in international prices, along with fluctuations in the dollar-rupee exchange rate and growing investor demand for safe-haven assets amid global economic uncertainty. The continued surge has made gold increasingly expensive for buyers in Pakistan, while jewelers report that customer activity has slowed due to the record-high rates.
