ISLAMABAD: The government has taken important decisions regarding the preparation of a new passport booklet equipped with advanced security features, according to officials.
Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa, accompanied by his team, visited the Pakistan Security Printing Corporation in Karachi to review preparations for the new travel document.
Pakistan Security Printing Corporation Managing Director Arshad Mahmood Bhatti briefed Randhawa on ongoing projects, passport booklet printing facilities, the production process and the modern equipment being used at the facility.
The briefing also covered the latest technologies aimed at further strengthening the security of Pakistani travel documents and protecting them against forgery and misuse.
During the meeting, officials discussed finalising the design and printing specifications of the new passport booklet. Particular attention was given to incorporating advanced security features into the polycarbonate data page/card.
The meeting also reviewed a comprehensive roadmap for the phased issuance and launch of the new passport booklet.
The initiative is aimed at modernising Pakistan’s passport system and enhancing the security of Pakistani travel documents through the adoption of advanced printing and document-security technologies.
