QUETTA: Security forces in South Balochistan have foiled a major plot by “Fitna al-Hindustan” BLA to use underage girls in suicide attacks, arresting two girls who were being prepared for the attack.
According to officials, acting on secret intelligence, security forces intercepted and safely took into custody two suicide bombers named Zainab, 16, and Fatima, 12, who were being groomed by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove held a key press conference along with the two minor girls.
Addressing the media, the Home Minister said the purpose of the briefing was to expose the “nefarious role of Fitna al-Hindustan.”
He said, “Whenever a terrorist incident occurs, people ask what the security forces are doing. The truth is that if one incident does take place, our security institutions are preventing ten others.”
He added that in South Balochistan, Fitna al-Hindustan attempted to mislead minor girls and use them for suicide attacks.
The Home Minister revealed that BLA militants brutally killed Zainab’s husband, Saif, along with 8 to 10 other family members after Saif refused to work for the organization. The local BLA commander then continued contacting the family and eventually reached Zainab.
During questioning, Zainab, 16, disclosed that the local commander blamed state institutions for her husband’s murder and persuaded her to take revenge.
She said Fatima, 12, is her cousin who was always with her and also came into contact with the commander. Fatima’s father was also targeted by the BLA, and like Zainab, she was emotionally manipulated into joining.
The girls further revealed that they were taken to BLA and kept at an unknown location for 40 days.
During that period, they were subjected to violence by those present, and the commander also made inappropriate advances. When they insisted on meeting the commander, they were told he was traveling to a neighboring country and would meet them upon return.
The Home Minister said that while the girls were being moved from one location to another, security forces acted on timely intelligence and safely took Zainab and Fatima into custody.
Both girls thanked the security forces for saving their lives and made a strong appeal to the government and the nation for general amnesty.
