DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Terrorists opened fire on a police party near Hathala on Tank Road, leaving DSP Kalachi Kafayatullah Marwat and three other police personnel injured. A police vehicle also overturned in the attack.
According to police, DSP Kalachi Kafayatullah Marwat and the SHO Hathala were heading with a police contingent for an operation when terrorists targeted their vehicle near Hathala and opened fire.
During the firing, the police vehicle went out of control and overturned, resulting in injuries to the DSP and several personnel. The SHO Hathala is also reported to be among the injured.
Police said personnel retaliated immediately, forcing the terrorists to flee the scene. The injured officers were shifted to hospital for medical treatment.
Following the incident, police and security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Efforts to trace and arrest the attackers are ongoing.
