ISLAMABAD: Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah, the country’s largest defense industrial complex.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Field Marshal was given a detailed briefing on POF’s production capacity, export potential, and the organization’s role in strengthening the national defense industrial base.
During the visit, officials apprised him of various POF activities and measures being taken to bolster national defense through the manufacturing of different types of military equipment in Pakistan.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also witnessed testing and trial phases of weapons and ammunition designed and produced locally.
POF highlighted its commitment to innovation, self-reliance, and enhancing defense production capabilities.
ISPR stated that the Army Chief and Chief of Defence Forces were briefed on progress in the corporateization of POF following the implementation of the Defense Industry Production Reforms Act (DEPRA) Ordinance.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was also updated on ongoing projects to increase local production and industrial capacity, including the installation of two new industrial plants. Officials said production at these plants is expected to begin by the end of this year.
ISPR added that during the visit, the military leadership reiterated its commitment to promoting self-reliance, local production, and technological innovation in the defense sector.
