KP CM Sohail afridi visits ayat noor home in haripur, announces child protection bill in her name
HARIPUR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi visited the home of Ayat Noor in Haripur to offer condolences to the grieving family and assured them of full government support in securing justice.
The Chief Minister met with Ayat Noor’s father, offered Fatiha, and was accompanied by local MPA and Provincial Minister for Information Shafi Jan.
Ayat Noor’s father thanked the Chief Minister and the people for their support and made an emotional appeal for justice. “My request is that the culprits be given the harshest punishment. The real perpetrators involved in my innocent daughter’s murder should be publicly hanged,” he said.
Overcome with emotion during his media talk at Ayat Noor’s house, CM Sohail Afridi said, “The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa share equally in your grief. She is not just your daughter, she is our daughter. Animals were treated better than this child was treated.”
The Chief Minister announced that the involved culprit will be made an example and in the future criminals will think a thousand times before committing such a crime. He promised that those involved will be given the severest punishment and requested the courts not to grant any relief to the accused. He said the provincial government stands with the affected family and no negligence will be tolerated. “If children are not safe even in the presence of the administration, then we should put locks on the offices,” he added.
CM Sohail Afridi further announced that the Child Protection Bill will be named after Ayat Noor and Swat Chowk in Haripur will also be named after her. Ayat Noor’s father became emotional and embraced Chief Minister Sohail Afridi during the visit. The CM reiterated that the KP government will pursue the case to ensure exemplary punishment so that such incidents are never repeated.
